Private Medical InsuranceOur osteopaths are registered with most health care providers. However, at present we are unable to treat BUPA patients as we cannot agree to the unreasonable 40% reduction in our fee that they insist upon if we want to be part of their network. Unfortunately this removes your choice of who you see as their network is based purely on osteopaths who have accepted their low price. In Sevenoaks, 17 out of 18 osteopaths have rejected the BUPA contract. We suggest you complain to BUPA if you are unable to see the practitioner of your choice. Please contact the clinic reception if you require any further information regarding Private Health Insurance cover or claims.
What should I do if I get a sudden pain?
If you experience an immediate onset of sharp, gripping pain or spasm – for example you lifted a heavy object and felt pain – STOP whatever you are doing and DO NOT PANIC. Cover with ice for 15 minutes maximum, repeat every two hours and contact us on 01732 453956 so that we can advise you if and when treatment would be appropriate.
Acute back, neck or other joint pain can be a frightening experience but in most cases the intense level of pain tends to only last 1-2 days if treated correctly. After this time the sharp pain should subside to stiffness allowing more mobility but it is most important to seek the correct treatment initially.
