Unfortunately BUPA has shown no understanding or inclination to change their attitude towards Osteopaths, particularly for those outside the M25. We do feel that it would be very unfair on our patients who do not have private medical insurance to charge BUPA insurance patients only £30.00, as they are insisting on. Therefore we (like the majority of Osteopaths outside the M25) continue to refuse to join the Bupa Osteopathy Network (NOTwork as we have nicknamed it).
A recent article in the Times highlights the issue that Policy holders have lost their choice of who they can see and the high rise in the number of complaints that have been made to Bupa this year, up 38% to 12700 over the last 2 years. In our experience PPP, WPA, Aviva , Cigna and Simply Health all provide a better service at present. Times Article→
